Learning & Development

Why Its Important

There is no doubt that training and development offers many benefits to the employee, employer and their clients. It helps new staff to gain confidence, establish themselves more quickly, and make an immediate contribution to an organisation. It enhances skills and expertise, increases professional standards and the quality of care services, provides career development and provides personal achievement and fulfilment.

Codes of Practice

for social care

All health and social care workers should be given a copy of the Code of Practice for Social Care Workers as laid down by the General Social Care Council. You can obtain these from the General Social Care Council. Each code booklet contains a credit-card-sized summary of the codes, making it easy for social care workers to carry them at all times. Both copies of the codes are contained within one booklet. The codes will also be of interest to people who use services, carers and the general public.
